Basic Controls

In Detroit: Become Human, movement supports both WASD and the arrow keys, so it’s possible to switch based on the dominant hand or keyboard layout. Also, since “Action (left click / mouse movement)” and “Mind Palace (right click)” are basic in-game controls, make sure to memorize them. Being able to move immediately after scenes involving QTEs or camera controls helps the game progress smoothly.

Action

Action-type inputs (equivalent to right stick controls on a game controller) are assigned to easy-to-press keys near WASD, such as Q/E and Shift. Since Detroit: Become Human relies on smooth action selection, make sure to learn these as well.

Dialogue Selection

Dialogue selection supports the number keys (1–4) and the numpad (Num 1–4), which helps reduce misinputs even with one-handed play. In timed dialogue branches, input speed directly affects immersion, so it’s best to decide in advance whether to mainly use the number row or the numpad.

Context Controls

Context controls revolve around “Exit (Tab/End)” and “Execute (F/Num 0),” and learning these greatly reduces stress while exploring. In addition, “Switch camera (Left Ctrl or /)” is useful in situations where the viewpoint or presentation changes.
