Navigation
First, let's learn the basic window navigation shortcuts. Mastering these will eliminate about half of your mouse operations.

Messages
Next are shortcuts within channels. These may not be very intuitive, but they're extremely convenient once you learn them, as they allow you to quickly reply and send messages.

Shortcuts Within Messages
These are convenient shortcuts you can use when replying to messages. These are all shortcuts you definitely want to learn, but auto-completion is an absolute must-learn shortcut. Use @ for recipients, ~ for channel list, navigate with up/down keys, and confirm with Tab. Simple and convenient.
The built-in browser commands are also subtly useful.
