Basic Controls
Ready or Not’s basic controls use standard FPS keybindings, such as moving with WASD, jumping with the Spacebar, and crouching with Left Ctrl. Mastering WASD, crouch, walk, and lean so that “the avatar can be controlled exactly as intended” will increase survivability.
| Action | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| Move forward | W |
| Move backward | S |
| Move left | A |
| Move right | D |
| Jump | Space |
| Crouch | Left Ctrl |
| Walk | Left Shift |
| Lean left | Q |
| Lean right | E |
| Free lean | Left Alt |
Interaction
In Ready or Not, interaction actions are often used more to “control the situation” than to “shoot,” and F (Command/Interact) and G (Quick Throw) are used frequently, so they should be mastered first. Unlike war-themed FPS games, this is fundamentally a SWAT game, so being able to switch quickly around these actions is extremely important.
| Action | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| Fire | Left mouse click |
| ADS (aim down sights) | Right mouse click |
| Toggle HUD | F3 |
| Quick throw | G |
| Interact / Call for surrender | F |
| Melee | B |
| Select fire mode | X |
| Reload / Check magazine | R |
| Toggle low-ready | Home |
| Lower muzzle | Del |
Equipment
Switching equipment is mainly done with the standard number keys in FPS games, but since some operations include the numpad, if going this far with full key operation, a left-hand keyboard with custom keybindings will be essential.
| Action | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| Equip primary | 1 |
| Equip secondary | 2 |
| Equip grenade | 3 |
| Equip tactical device | 4 |
| Equip long tactical | 5 |
| Equip other | 6 |

| Equip Optiwand | Numpad 3 |
| Equip flashbang | Numpad 2 |
| Equip CS gas | Numpad 1 |

Teamwork
Teamwork-related shortcuts are important for “standardizing procedures” in both AI squads and co-op play. Getting used to operating around the middle-click command UI and Z default commands, while switching group selection with the wheel, makes entries and clears much smoother.
| Action | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| Open SWAT command interface | Middle mouse click |
| Issue default command | Z |

| Select previous group | Mouse wheel down |
| Select gold group | F5 |

| Command key 1 | 1 |
| Command key 2 | 2 |

| Command key 7 | 7 |
| Command key 8 | 8 |
| Command key 9 | 9 |
| Command key back | Tab |
| Team view camera | T |
| Push-to-talk | V |
| Switch voice channel | L |
| Chat | J |
| Team chat | K |
Other
Other keys mainly handle “outside the flow of gameplay,” such as pausing, spectating, and voting. They are not a high priority to memorize, but in multiplayer, voting (PageUp/PageDown) and switching spectators (arrow keys) will be necessary, so knowing at least their basic positions will prevent confusion.
| Action | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| Pause | Esc |
| Vote yes | PageUp |
| Vote no | PageDown |
| Spectate next player | Right Arrow |
| Spectate previous player | Left Arrow |
| Multiplayer menu | M |
