Basic Controls (Camera Controls)

Because Total War: Attila is an RTS, basic controls can be handled with the mouse alone, but learning the key bindings as well can speed up actions and bring victory much closer. If the WASD and Q/E keys are memorized, screen movement becomes smoother.

Campaign Map

Because campaign actions are used frequently in a low-key way, memorizing key bindings and shortcuts makes it possible to use the time spent “searching menus” for “thinking strategy,” so nailing this down makes the winning line come into view all at once.

Battle: Units/Groups

In battle, being able to run group controls and formation fine-tuning via shortcuts allows gaining an advantage over the opponent.

With grouping via G/Ctrl+G and Ctrl+number as the core, and by learning J for about face plus rotation/rank adjustments with Ctrl+arrow keys, it becomes possible to command without breaking formation even in a melee.

Using pan movement with Home/End as well reduces losing sight of the commanded target.

Battle: Selection (Selection)

Selection shortcuts are time-saving gear for “instantly grabbing only the needed unit types.”

Because Ctrl+B/I/C/M can select by unit type in one shot, it becomes possible to quickly cycle actions like stopping artillery fire or issuing cavalry charge orders.

If Enter for clear all and Home for pan to the general are memorized as well, switching mistakes decrease and control becomes more stable.

ActionShortcut
Select all artilleryCtrl + B
Select all melee infantryCtrl + I
Select all cavalryCtrl + C
Select all missile infantryCtrl + M
Deselect allEnter
Pan to generalHome

Universal (Universal)

Common in-game shortcuts bundle operations that are used frequently across both battles and the campaign.

In addition to Ctrl+A and Backspace, there are many useful ones for streaming and multiplayer, such as toggling sound with Alt+X/Alt+M and controlling chat display with Y/Esc, so actions used often should be memorized.

ActionShortcut
Toggle sound effectsAlt + X
Toggle musicAlt + M
Select allCtrl + A
Select next.

Battle: Game/UI

UI shortcuts are actually a fairly important action in the sense of “instantly show/hide only the information to see.”

By switching the radar (O), unit cards (U), information display (I), and the entire UI (K) depending on the situation, both visibility and operating space can be achieved.

If battle speed (T) and pause (P) are learned as a set as well, decision-making for unit management becomes easier to keep stable.

ActionShortcut
Toggle battle speedT
Show unit ordersSpace
Toggle radar displayO
Toggle unit card displayU
Toggle unit information displayI
